Kohagen Beach – A Family-Friendly Swim Spot in Sandhem

Right in the heart of Sandhem, Kohagen Beach offers everything you need for a fun and relaxing summer day. Enjoy a swim from the bathing jetty, play on the sandy beach, or stretch out on the large grassy areas perfect for sunbathing or a picnic. The swimming area is divided by floating buoys, creating a shallow zone where younger children can swim and play safely.

For families with small children, there’s also a little playground by the beach. If you’re looking to stay the night, camping is allowed on the grassy area, making it a great spot for a spontaneous summer getaway.

The site also features a beach volleyball court and public toilets, making Kohagen a well-equipped and welcoming destination for both locals and visitors.

Sandtorp Beach – A Quiet Forest Escape

Just outside the village, a short walk past Sandhem Church, you’ll find Sandtorp Beach – a small and peaceful swimming spot nestled in a fragrant pine forest. With two little beaches, shallow water, and a sandy bottom, it’s ideal for calm swims, young children, and anyone looking to unwind close to nature.

Thanks to the shallow shoreline, the water here is often a little warmer than elsewhere, making it especially inviting on sunny days. There are also benches by the beach, perfect for those who want to enjoy a picnic in the shade of the trees or just take in the peaceful surroundings.

Dogs are welcome to swim here too, so feel free to bring your furry friend along for a refreshing dip in the calm waters of Lake Sandhemssjön.

Kohagen and Sandtorp

There is convenient parking available at both Kohagen Beach and Sandtorp Beach. Kohagen Beach is also just a short walk from the train station, making it easily accessible for visitors arriving by rail.
