Sägnernas Hus is one of West Sweden’s largest and most beloved venues for traditional Swedish danceband music. Over the years, nearly all of Sweden’s top dancebands have played here, attracting dancers from near and far.
With plenty of space across two large dance floors, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a night of dancing in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
For those who want to take a break, there’s a cozy bar on the lower level and a dining area right next to the dance floors. If the evening gets too hot, guests even have the option to cool off with a quick shower.
A Journey into Swedish Folklore
The folklore museum, founded in 1996 by artist Lea Lindell, showcases handcrafted sculptures depicting various mythical beings from Swedish folklore, such as trolls, giants, and forest spirits. These figures are based on descriptions by folklorist Ebbe Schön and are displayed in three spacious rooms within a converted barn.
The museum experience is both magical and slightly eerie, with atmospheric lighting and sounds that bring the legends to life.
Each sculpture is full of detail and personality, capturing the spirit of Sweden’s mythological world. Visitors of all ages are invited to explore the stories and creatures that once lived in the deep forests and dark lakes of the Nordic countryside.
